Scarlett and the Wolfe

Last semester I took a creative writing class. It wasn't for my major, it was just because I love to write. I wrote a short story for my class and turned it in at the end of the semester, and I never got feedback from it. I would love to get feedback from someone. I was thinking about submitting it for publishing somewhere but I'd like someone else to read it first. I think its pretty good, but still I'm critical of myself and I'm not sure if it comes across as I intend.
The story is entitled Scarlett and the Wolfe. I got the idea when I watched the movie Red Riding Hood with Amanda Seyfried. I was excited to see it, a modern adaptation of little red riding hood, with the wolf being a werewolf. However, it was a little disappointing, it was too cheesy and not well written. I thought the idea had such potential. Then my husband said, "why don't you write an adaptation?" So I decided to write a short story adaptation of little red riding hood. It is a modern adaptation, set in a non-specific 'big city' similar to New York. Inspired by the moral of the little red riding hood story "beware of charming strangers" I decided that instead of a werewolf, the 'wolf' character would be a charming stranger that means her harm.
So here is a link to my story published on google docs. If anyone actually reads this, comments would be appreciated.

Baby Shower

I did make a little sweater for November Rose, I didn't get a picture though before giving it to Tara at her baby shower. Take my word for it though, it was adorable. It was a simple little cardigan but with the yarn I used it made such a cute look. The baby shower was this past Saturday. I took my son with me thinking that my nephews would be there for him to play with, but they were with their dad that weekend. There were other kids there though for him to play with. Lucas loves babies, he is so sweet. I went upstairs and found him holding a baby doll and he said, "look Mommy, a baby!" I told him to come down to eat and he tucked the baby in for a nap. I think I will definitely have to take him to visit the baby once she is born. My son would have made such a great big brother if we had wanted to have a second baby, but we decided to stop at one.

Here are the links to the baby clothes I knitted for November Rose, they are too cute not to share:

November Rose

I'm finally going to have a niece pretty soon! Between my husband and I, we have 7 nephews, and we have a son, so there have been no girl grandchildren. November Rose is due next month and is going to be a teeny tiny baby. As of right now she is only about 3 pounds. I wanted to try and find some preemie clothes for her since she will be so tiny, but I couldn't find much and what I did find was pricey. So I bought a skein of really cute baby yarn instead. So far I have made one very cute hat and I'm working on socks next. The yarn is self striping, creating different shades of pink stripes plus little rosebuds. I think it will suit her, it certainly goes with her name. November Rose is such a pretty name if you really think about it, sort of poetic. Its like discovering something beautiful in a dark and dreary time.

UPDATE: I finished the matching socks. I'm thinking of making a matching sweater next.

I'm a horrible blogger...

Ok, so I haven't posted in a long time. I really should get in the habit of blogging more. I'm finally using twitter now at least. I logged in to my personal account for the first time in 2 years to read The Bloggess' tweets. I love the bloggess, I read her blog all the time, and had to start reading her tweets when I found out I was missing alot. So I should strive to be more like the bloggess...sort of.
